LOCATION:
A Mid Century modern masterpiece is picturesquely located on the east
bank of the Intracoastal Waterway in Fort Lauderdale just steps from
the Atlantic Ocean. Manhattan Tower is a tropical Mid-Century Modern
Apartment Hotel designed and built in 1952 by the innovative architect,
Charles McKirahan for General Motors as a corporate retreat. The
signature Frigidaire logo was created with iron tubing which soars 50
feet into the air and provides the supporting structure for the
circular staircase standing as an exclamation point greeting guests and
visitors. This dramatic statement along with the walls of glass in all
the apartments and the stepped out rectilinear building perimeter
contribute to make this an important example of this unique period in
creative architecture.
View the daily boat parade from a private balcony or from the expansive
waterfront terrace. Enjoy the tranquility of the tropical courtyard and
pool. The second floor library/conference room overlooking the waterway
and stocked with an extensive collection of interesting books serves as
the perfect retreat from the mid-day sun, as a meeting place for
seminars or as a great place to relax with a glass of wine after a day
at the beach. The loggia, connecting the courtyard with the waterfront,
is a favorite gathering place for guests to exchange their daily
adventures.

OVERVIEW:
Rates are based on up to 2 people in a studio or one bedroom apartment
and up to 4 people in a two bedroom apartment. There is a charge of
$20.00 per night for each additional adult. Rates do not include tax or
gratuities. Charges may be incurred for changing dates. A minimum stay
may be required. Call or email to check for special or discounted rates.
DSL lines available in all apartments at $1.00/day. Calls are charged
at fifty cents for local calls, seventy five cents for 800 or credit
card calls and there is a 50% surcharge added to all long distance
calls.
Cancellation Policy: Reservations require a deposit of 25% of scheduled
stay. Full refund if cancelled prior to 30 days before scheduled
arrival date after which all deposits are forfeited. A non-refundable
deposit of $1000 is required for scheduled stays of 30 days or more.
Payment for entire stay of 30 days or more is due and payable 30 days
prior to scheduled arrival date. For your own protection we urge all
travelers to use some form of cancellation insurance. Click here for
information regarding insurance. Security deposit of $500.00 for stays
of one month or more.
PET POLICY: Being pet lovers and knowing the problems encountered when
traveling with them, we have attempted to provide a pet-friendly
environment that does not impinge on the rights of our guests without
pets. We have had no problems with pets only with owners who are
unfamiliar with or unwilling to abide by:
Pet Etiquette
Keep your pet on a leash when in common areas.
Pick up and deposit their droppings in the proper containers.
Do not leave pets alone if they bark.
Be considerate of guests who are afraid or do not share your enthusiasm for pet ownership.
Do not travel with a pet if you cannot control their barking or aggressive behavior.
The following policy has been instituted to assure that we can continue to offer lodging to pets accompanied by their owners.
Pet damage deposit: $100.00 for stays of less than 30 days. For stays
over 30 days the pet deposit is included in the general security
deposit. Pet deposits will be held for three days after departure.
There will be a final cleaning charge for guests with pets of $100.
Guests with pets give the management of this property the right to
terminate their stay if they fail to follow "Pet Etiquette" or their
pet is perceived by the management as being a nuisance or threat to
other guests. Upon termination the guest agrees that all pre-paid rent
monies shall be prorated and the guest agrees to vacate the premises
immediately upon termination of their stay.
